Jake has finished preschool and actually got the chance to spend three days as a kindergartner. He had a blast and is really looking forward to starting school in the fall. I got the chance to go and have lunch with the kids at school this past week and I talked to his teacher and asked her how he was doing. She kind of chuckled
and responded, he's doing as well as any of them. Which I took to mean "Aghhhh Calgone take me away!" While the class is small by most standards, there are 10 students, 6 of those are boys, not just boys but country boys and for those of you asking what the difference is I will do my best to tell you :o) Country boys seem to spend a lot of time with their dads, working on things, tearing things up, general hands on activities. So when they go to school they are into everything and have a very hard time sitting still for very long. Now I know all five year olds have a problem sitting still, it just seems to be even worse with country boys, at least in my experience.
Things have settled down for Brad as well. He finished AI'ing the heifers
on Tuesday so he no longer has anything he has to feed with the feed wagon, he is thrilled! He has slowed enough that he was able to go to the end of year preschool bar-b-Que lunch. It was too cute when we arrived and Brad stepped out of the car a little boy yelled out "Hey there's a cowboy". It is kind of funny in the fact that I am 100% sure that Brad is not the first cowboy this little
boy has seen in his life, but he apparently thinks they are really cool.
The girls are getting excited for camp. Both Jayla and Kendra get to go this year and they are going at the same time as some of their friends so it promises to be a good time. They both got
their very own Bibles this year so they will be able to underline and highlight anything they want. They found my first bible and saw how I had wrote on the side of it, I had wrote "I 'heart' God" so Jayla, not to be out done, had to write on the side of hers as well. The problem is she switched her d for a b and now hers says "I Love Gob" But don't mention that to her because she will grind her teeth, shut her eyes and firming tell you "I KNOW" That doesn't stop her dad from pointing it out though :o)
In the beginning I have to admit Kendra was a little upset about the fact that Jayla was going to go to the same camp as she was. She was all for it when she thought they were going to go at separate times but when she found out her mom was unwilling to drive 3 hours one way a total of 4 times just so they could avoid going at the same time she was a little upset. You know how unreasonable moms can be...we
think they should be happy with the fact that they are even getting the chance to GO to camp, we are unconcerned with the notion that they might have to see each other in the process. I requested that they not be put in the same cabin and told her if that didn't work she could always stay home with her dad, mother and brother...she decided sharing wasn't sooo bad after all :o)
Well that will do for today. The girls will be home at 2:oo and than the fun really starts. I give them 2 weeks before they are asking when school starts again :o) We all hate school when we are in it, but we miss it when we're not. Love to all!
