Preschool Time

Well it is official, all of the Froman children are now school age. Jake started preschool on Tuesday the 2nd. He gets to go with his friend Haylie every Tuesday and Thursday. Although on the first day Jake was told that he couldn't play with Haylie and the other girls because he was a boy :o) Being around sisters all the time Jake is used to hanging out and playing with the girls so out of habit I think he just stuck around them. When he realized that he could play in the block area with other BOYS he was thrilled. He told me when he got home that the girls said he couldn't play with them. When I asked him "then what did you do?" He responded I went over and played in the BLOCKS!! (the word blocks was said very loudly and with a smile). He doesn't know any of the other boy's name yet but he likes them and they are his friends ;o)

On the other days of the week Jake goes to "Daddy School". They are getting along quite well. Yesterday Brad put a new floor in the horse trailer and Jake's job was to put the washers and nuts on the bolts for dad to screw down. Brad said that he did about 30 or 40 of them with no problems. They seem to have a routine worked out. After the girls get on the bus Brad and Jake go around and check the cows and then end up at the local quick stop for doughnuts and coffee. I guess yesterday when brad took out his bill fold to pay for the doughnuts Jake noticed that dad had only one dollar bill left and asked him where the rest of his money was. Brad told him that that was all he had and that he guessed he better ask mom for some more. Jake then looked up at him in amazement and asked him "you have to ask mom for money too?" Brad said that it was so funny because of the look on his face. I told Brad he should have said "no I only get money when I do my chores just like you and the girls" I don't know if Brad thought that was as funny as I did :o)

One of the things that we do to make the mornings go smoothly is set out all our clothes the night before. As you can see from the picture to the left Jake sets his clothes out so that all he has to do is crawl into them!

The girls are doing good as well. After doing her A.R. (accelerated reading) test Kendra now goes to the 5th/6th grade classroom for her reading. She tested at the 6.1 level. I am not sure where Jayla's score fell but she is doing well I am sure. She has a newer teacher that is still getting her bearings so we need to be patient.
My schooling is going fine though I have to say my worst class is P.E. yes I said P.E. Technically it is called Lifestyle techniques but that is just a fancy word so that they can give college credits for teaching sex ed and running. I have never felt as old as I do in that class. I am in there with a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds that are just like me when I was that age and I just want to smack all of them. Especially the boys! As we began discussing safe sex practices and how VERY important they are now for everyone as they start this new chapter of freedom in their lives (OK now I will put that in English...don't become a street walker now that your parents are no longer around) I was gifted to many recaps of the weekend's parties. All I can think to myself is "I am a 31 year old married mother of three...WHY do I need to be here????? We haven't started the exercise portion of class yet but boy am I looking forward to that as well. Did I mention that half the class is there on sport scholarships? As far as the rest of my classes I am enjoying them and the drive is not even too bad...yet :o)
Hope all is well with all of you. Until next time....

One of my P.E. classes in college was billards. We got credits for playing pool the whole hour.
Too bad you didn't have that as a choice, much better then talking about safe sex with a bunch of kids.

What is your major again? How far do you have to drive?

About 115 miles :o) I couldn't have taken college seriously when I was younger...noooooo I had to be a smarty and wait until I was in my 30's and two hours away! Guess that will teach me ;o)
