The girls spent last weekend in Sioux Falls with the girl scouts and went to the
water park, Chucky Cheese, Zoo and art museum. They had a busy couple days. If you ever want to teach your child how to use a phone and leave proper messages then just give her a cell phone. For those of you who have ever received a message on your answering machine from Kendra you will know what I am talking about when I say Kendra was the queen of bad messages. She was known for leaving messages like "This is Kendra" that's it, nothing else. Or my favorite "I don't know if they are there or not" after saying one of these messages she would just hang up. Not long ago I received a call from one little girl's mother because they had received two messages from a little
girl that they could not understand and they wanted to know if it was Kendra...it was! Well when Jayla and her went to Sioux Falls we sent them with a prepaid cell phone. It didn't take long before we were getting professional messages like "Hey mom it's Kendra, I didn't need anything I was just going to see how you were. No big deal I'll just call back in a little while". Then you guessed it an hour later there would be yet another message and then another. She became the message Diva when it came to using a cell phone :o)
Last week the whole family also traveled to Sioux City to see some old friends, Shana and Brandon Carpenter. Shana and I have been friends since the 4th grade which is scary considering that is the grade Kendra is currently in. Shana and Brandon just moved from San
Diego, CA to Aims, IA. Now you may ask yourself why anyone would move from San Diego to
Iowa, or maybe that would just be me :o) Shana is going to be teaching (and I think more researching) at Iowa State University. It is hard to believe that a girl I use to "Cruise" with and break the rules with is now "Dr. Shana" but she is! We had a really good time just hanging out and visiting. Brandon and Brad have always seemed to get along so it was nice that they went and kind of did their thing and Shana and I, along with the kids, just hung out and visited. It was nice to see people from "home" and touch base.
Well school will be starting for me on Monday so I am not too sure how often I will get these done now. If I can convince Brad to take pictures for me or tell me stories I can share then that would be helpful. Without me being a constant form of entertainment for him to laugh at or yell at, considering what the job is, I am not sure what I will write about. But I guess there is always something happening at the Froman house so I imagine I will think of something :o)
Love to all!
