Quiet Week

This picture was taken at the beginning of Brad and Dozer's fun run, though I am not sure that either Brad or Dozer had any fun. Brad has had an old cow that has been on the fight for a long time. She got the best of him last year so now she is a real joy to deal with. Brad asked me to come along and help last Friday...he also told me to bring the .22 with me. Ok, so here is the deal, I can fake be a good hand relatively well. I can feed and run the tractor, I can check cows and even help pull a calf if neccessary. But I do Not have any common sense when it comes to a ticked off cow coming at me. Let's just say I understand how the poor deer feels when the car tops the hill :o) I find myself frozen, unable to get the heck out of the way. And if I am able to move it always seems to be in the wrong direction. So I had to question my husband's desire to have ME help him. So I reminded Brad of some of the times he has had to save me ( upset heifers/new moms seem to be my worst enemies) and asked whether he really wanted to have to worry about getting the cow and saving me. After he thought about it for awhile he decided I might be right, and not the best choice to ride shotgun. I went along though to move the trailer and be there in case of emergency. Our Angus mom got the better of Brad again and gave him the slip. Brad hates the fact that there are numerous draws full of trees everywhere around here. You can ride right by a cow and never see her. So Brad has finally accept the fact that he is going to need two ropers, horseback, if he is ever going to get this cow. Once she has been caught she has a one way ticket to the sale barn :o)

I thought this pic was cute. Jake really needs to wipe off his face, but he doesn't seem to be too worried about it, dad doesn't seem to worried either :o)

Jayla got her haircut yesterday and I think it is really cute. She let me play with it this morning before school, which for those of you that know our Jellybean, you know she hates to have people do her hair.

Love the haircut! Glad you made it home safely after you "mad cow" experience! Heather
