HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

It is that time of year again, where the leaves are supposed to be falling off the trees and the nights are supposed to get cooler. That is what is supposed to be happening; in reality we have already received snow (like many of you I am sure) and it has rained inches in the last few days so our driveway is a sopping mess. We had some hunters get stuck down here yesterday. I had to laugh at Chris (he is one of the bosses) because he asked me yesterday if I was going to be OK getting out of our driveway. I informed him that I was getting kind of used to this extreme driving and that I would be just fine :o) I felt like telling him that it wasn't too bad because I didn't have to leave my car up at the road. We even managed to find them something red to wear!

Brad and Kendra went to a Husker game yesterday and had a good time. Brad could do without the whole I-80 experience but he did alright. Though he did tell me that he doesn't think he said a whole 3 words to Kendra while he was on it. They got there though and Kendra enjoyed her first stadium game. I guess there was somewhat of an obnoxious guy sitting by Kendra when they first started out so Brad ended up switching seats with her. It amazes me how the guys up here cuss around kids, especially the older ones. I always thought that these good ol' boys would be better mannered then big city boys but I have found that to be false. Gas stations, Wal-Mart, it doesn't matter where, they cuss.

We carved pumpkins today and made a large mess, as is to be expected. We were able to try our hand at stencil carving thanks to Grandma Maxine who made sure we had a whole selection to choose from. We ended up with a ghost and what Jake thought was a skeleton pumpkin (not sure why he thought it looked like that but hey who am I to say?)

They enjoyed it for the most part. No one is really fond of the cleaning out part, Jake quit doing it shortly into the process. There were a lot of itchy hands and arms and a lot of pumpkin seeds all over the floor. We had them spread from one side of the kitchen to the other, literally! I am not sure how they got the seeds spread out over a 10ft area but they did. Kendra had a small pumpkin so she had to free hand her face, not too bad if she says so herself :o)

Wishing you all a very Spooky and Happy Halloween!!
