Even though Christmas is over it seems like we are stuck in the same ol' Christmas song. With high temperatures only in the single digits we are not getting rid of any of it in the near future. This week we are hoping to hit 17 degrees on Friday, keep your fingers crossed for us :o)

The kids started back to school today and they did so with much whining and crying. Part of the reason is because their dad and I just finished cleaning and setting up the basement as a play area complete with a TV, playstation and VCR. We only finished yesterday so they were only able to enjoy it for a few hours. Wednesday the Dish people will be here to hook them up with satellite and than they should be happy campers! Brad and I had to clean for two days to get the basement up to par, we ended up with a full pick-up load of stuff for the dump.

Our Christmas was great. The kids slept in until 7:00, which I find so strange. Heather and I were always up by 4:00, whereas our children are never up before 7:00. We played the Wii, Yahtzee and uno. Jake is not a huge fan of uno. He really thought we were picking on him every time we would tell him he had to draw more cards. At one point he had tears in his eyes and was pleading "I don't want to have any more cards, do I have to have more?" In his defense he had so many cards that an adult would struggle to hold them all in their hand. It didn't help him either that he was part of team Brad. Brad always tries to cheat so he doesn't make any friends while playing games. Since Jake was his little accomplice he had a target on his back. We

all had a very good time.
Jayla was very happy to receive a camera, though
I think she might have been a little disappointed because her
last camera use to be mine so the quality was
a little different. We couldn't really justify
spending $150 on a camera for an 8 year old, especially
considering her last one was ruined due to handling issues. She has decided that it will do though for the time being. All the kids ended up getting a fair amount of money for Christmas so she could have used her's on a really nice camera but instead has decided to put most of her money in her saving's account. In this sense I am not totally sure she is mine :o)

Kendra got makeup in her stocking so she has been trying hard to find a balance between what she would like to wear, loud and proud, and what mom will allow her to wear, understated and quiet.
