The kid's turn

Brad and I were not the only Froman's to enjoy a little adventure, the kids had their own good time.

Among other things, on the agenda was a trip to Garden of the Gods, I'll give you one guess as to who wanted to go there. It may have been Jayla that started that ball rolling but by the end all the kids were glad they had went and even requested that we go back the next time we are in that area.

They also did build-a-bear, Eliches, school shopping and a fun run, that turned out to be a fun jog.

Kendra also got to get contacts...happy day! Though we just received them in the mail a couple of days ago so she has not gotten to try them out yet. The Dr. is hopeful that she will get along with contacts better then most people do due to the fact that her eyes always water and therefore will help to keep her contacts cleaner and less irritating. We shall see.

Kendra turns 13 in little over a week and we have a weekend sleepover planned for Sioux City. Her and two friends get their own hotel room (beside mine) and get to cruise the mall and do what 13 year olds do. I will get to hang out with Jayla and shake my head a lot.

Jayla got her hair cut and a collection of rocks from Garden of the Gods. Jake got a wrapper from the Garden of the Gods...yup you read that correctly, a wrapper. All the kids were given a few dollars to spend on a keepsake. The girls each bought a piece of jewelry and/or polished rocks. Jake wanted to spend his money on a candy bar and when he was encouraged by his Grandma Maxine to buy something he could keep for himself so that he could remember his day at the Garden of the Gods he replied that he would just keep the wrapper. You see the wrapper had "Garden of the Gods" printed quite clearly on it (that's how they get away with charging $2.99 for a candy bar) so not only did he get his candy but he got his keepsake as well, because trust me he not only kept the wrapper but he brought it home and put it on his headboard!

After Brad and I came back to Colorado the kids got a rude awakening, but only for a few hours. We stayed one night and then we left them with their Grandma and Grandpa Froman while we traveled back to Nebraska. Let me assure you that by the time we got the kids back there was a whole mess of deprogramming that had to take place.

Until next time!
