First day of school, for all of us!

Since I had to start back to school before the kids did I had to depend on the kids to take pictures of each other.

Jake, Brad and I had to come to an agreement about what Jake was wearing on the first day of school which explains Jake's outfit. Jake wanted to wear shorts, I was fine with shorts...Brad had a problem with shorts, go figure :o) So our compromise was that he could wear the shirt that he was going to wear with his shorts with his pants. He is with the same class as last year but they have a new teacher. He moved up in his reading group so he thinks he's pretty awesome, and we tend to agree, though it does depend on the day!

Kendra was excited yet scared, I told her I was too so we had that in common. By the end of the day she was in the mode though and it was like she had been in Jr. High her whole life. She is really enjoying volleyball. SHe comes home every night and complains about how sore her arms are but she loves it. She has quite a bit more homework now days but so far she is keeping up.

Jayla is in a triple combined class this year with 4th-6th graders and she still only has 12 students, and that is after three new students joined them. She likes being in the "big kid" class and is enjoying a little more freedom of choice.

We are headed down to Grand Island this weekend for the Nebraska state fair. Kendra and Jayla wrote essays for a scholarship and Kendra's won second runner-up, or 3rd place for the less fancy people. So we are headed down for the little awards ceremony. We are going to spend the night while we are there and have a little family weekend.
