The title of this blog is "giving thanks" and I figured it was past time that I did just that. Last month I finally graduated and now have my teaching certificate. As many of you know I have somewhat blown off the importance of me finally getting i
t achieved. In my opinion, it was long overdue and I don't feel that I deserve all the "congratulations" and the "so proud of you's". If anything I should be hearing "'bout dang time" and "you should have done that 14 years ago". There are a lot of people out there that deserve the praise, my husband and kids just to name a few. I was thinking tonight about all the people that in some way made an impression or helped me to become a teacher. From way back in 1999 when I subbed in Mrs. Ritter's classroom and discovered that I could get paid for a job I loved to Mrs. Arbuthnot telling me that I needed to get my butt back in school because I would be a good teacher. Or our friend Jane putting life into perspective when I was complaining about getting a "B".

I have been blessed with a supporting family, even though there are times I know they wished I w

ould just be done already. There were some mornings when I would leave before they were awake only to return home a few minutes before bedtime, if at all. Brad may not have liked it but he never complained overly much...let me assure I would have complained more if the roles were reversed :) My sister who I could call and say "hey can I borrow $50 for gas" and not only receive the $50 but a little extra just to make things easier until payday rolled around. There are so many people that helped me achieve that little piece of paper that I just can't take all the credit myself. All I did was go to class, which I enjoyed whole heartily, and locked myself in a room to do homework, which hurt Brad more than it hurt me trust me ;)
So THANK YOU! Everyone and anyone that listened to me complain or brag, gripe or beg, your support was what finally made it happen. I will do my best to make it worthwhile.
There is a lot more to cover but since it is getting late I will save that until next time. I will leave you all with this information, I did get a job, though it is only a para position and only through the remainder of the year. It is a job however, with a paycheck each and every month and insurance. I am thankful for the chance to make some money for my family and for the opportunity to gain a little more experience. Thanks for letting me ignore the kids this blog, they will be back in force on the next one have no fear. Love to all!!
