We had a sleepover this past weekend which the kids really enjoyed. We even had a guest that was a boy so Jake was really happy :>) Cade and Taryn spent Saturday with us and then spent the night. These are Tim's kids. They spent most of the day trying to cool off so late that afternoon Denay (Tim's wife) and I took all the kids to the river. They had a blast trying to make fishing poles out of tree limbs and chasing the dogs. They all stayed up until 1:00am watching movies and playing hide and seek in the dark. Sunday Cade and Taryn left for home and we spent a very lazy Sunday. Nobody really had any energy for anything.
The girls have finished their swimming lessons for the year. Kendra passed and is now on to the next level. J
ayla, though she did "fabulous" still needs to work on floating and diving before she can move on. They both did good though and had fun going in everyday to swim and play in the park. Friday they got to meet a few more kids in town and spent quite a while at the park.
Kendra spent last Sunday evening cooking. She was the only one out of all of us t
hat had much energy. So she asked if she could make cookies (the pull apart kind) and make us dinner. She made a whole little resturant where dad and I could go on a date and she would be our waitress. We had a nice dinner of pizza and salad. What was really nice was that we were able to "pay" for it all with a handmade check for $3.00 :>) She did a very nice thing and it is just one of the reasons we love her.
We spent Wednesday evening back at the river. We are really enjoying that these hot days. We even got Brad
to roll up his pants and walk through the water this time. In the past he hasn't even taken off his boots. He says he is in charge of the fire and the cooler. Maybe eventually before the summer ends we can actually get him to get in the water so he can really cool off. We roasted winnies and made s'mores again. Brad kept asking
everyone if they were ready for a wennie and of course all of them said they were but after a while Jake looked at him and said "What's a wennie?", he had already ate two of them but apparently he was waiting for dad to give him a weinnie because all he had so far were hot dogs :>)

We are starting to get ready for a trip back to the chosen state (Colorado) We are all looking forward to visiting with friends and family. The kids are also looking forward to Crowley County days. They love the parade because that parade throws candy. So it maybe a week or so before you will get a new blog but when we get back we will have lots to report.
