4 Years Old--Where does the time go?

I can't believe where the time goes. I don't know how it is possible that he is 4 years old when I am still just 25? ;o) He ages but I just remain the same...at least for another year and then MAYBE I will consider becoming 26. We had a good day though and he seemed to enjoy himself. We have a tradition in our family that the birthday person gets to pick whatever they want to eat for the day. Jake's choice was eggs. Daddy tried hard to convince him that eggs were bad and that he really wanted steak. Jake just kept saying, "No, Eggs!" So eggs it was. I asked him if he would like biscuits and gravy to go with his eggs and he said yes. He then said that he did not want the little round hot things that go on biscuits and gravy, I asked him if he meant the sausage and he said he didn't like those. I said ok we will just have biscuits with the gravy on them and he said yea but with no Bread! So I explained that if you have no biscuits and no sausage then you have no biscuits and gravy :o) He was fine with that.

Our trip to CO went well. We had a good time and the girls got to see a lot of their friends. I took them to the school to join their old classmates for lunch and recess. They also spent two different nights with their friends so they were very tired at the end of this trip. I personally had a wonderful time. My sister gave me a gift certificate to have a facial. I have never had one of these before so it was an experience. After filling out their paperwork I told them that I was their worst nightmare. I don't wear make-up, I don't use any moisturizer, I don't even use a Toner! Apparently all of these things are required in their world. I had to laugh to myself though when she looked at my skin under her magnifying glass and could not really come up with any complaints. My sister said that they came up with all kinds for her. She asked What I did use and I told her hot water, she seemed amazed. It was very relaxing though and was a great way to spend an hour. Heather took the girls so I was on my own, it is good to be the baby sister!

The girls will be getting out at 1:00 today and then we are going to work the calves that just came in. Kendra is becoming quite the hand. She helped her dad sort the other morning and only missed one...That is better then me at times :o) I am off to town to pick up a prime rib. The brothers got us one for Thanksgiving and I have no idea how to fix it. This will be a first for me. I think Terri will be getting a call from me very soon, otherwise I will just cook it like a roast and ruin it. If that happens I think Brad will divorce me!

I will take this time to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I know we have many things to be thankful for, all of you included.

Love to all!

Heidi, if you need a recipe for your prime rib, let me know. I wish I worked for your bosses. What a nice thing for them to do.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
