As you can see they were little hams all day!!
Brad and I got to do something we haven't done for awhile...go on a date. All the kids spent the night at a friends house so Brad and I were left with an evening to ourselves. Other then the fact that we watched one of the stupidest movies ever made (Step Brothers) we had a good time.
We have also been very busy cutting wheat for the past week or so. If you want to know how to make Jake's day just let him ride around for awhile in a combine. Jeremy (the guy who owns the combine) took Jake for a few hours and I am sure learned an awful lot during that time period.
Jake spent the rest of the day showing everyone his toy combine and telling us all what the differences were between his combine and Jeremy's, the main of which is color...Jake's is yellow while Jeremy's is green. But both Jake's and Jeremy's have a big seat just for Jake. I think that was one of the things Jake liked the best...that Jeremy's tractor had a seat that was just for him. He didn't have to sit on the side hump in Jeremy's like he does in ours.
Things are starting to settle down here just in time for school to start. The girls start on the 21st while I start on the 25th. I am looking forward to seeing how well Brad and Jake get along by themselves. Part of me wonders just who is going to be in charge...Brad or Jake??? I know when it comes to fixing supper Brad is praying that Kendra can learn how to cook really fast so he wont have too. He says he only knows how to brown hamburger and therefore can't possibly be expected to actually cook a meal. As I have told him, if you can brown hamburger then you can make a meal. Well see how things go, I'll keep you informed :o)
Before they started cutting the wheat I went up the hill to take a few pictures. I always find it
funny if you have more then one person in a picture then it seems that you will never get all of them smiling at the same time...or all with their eyes open. We experienced this big time up in the wheat. But they did not turn out too bad.
