The kids had their spring program a few weeks ago so this picture is a little old I guess. It was also taken after dark and after the program due to the fact that their bad mom missed the performance due to a final in her night class. Have no fear though, I watched the dress rehearsal the day before the program.
Boy, let me tell you my children know how to work the guilt angle. I can't tell you how many school get togethers dad has missed over the years but there have been quite a few of them and he never gets the guilt trip! I miss one program and I get guilt trips and sad looks for weeks! If this picture is any indication I would say they had a fun night. Jayla's hair looks like she forgot to brush it...which is a possibility, a very GOOD possibility. I also assume that Jake's shirt was tucked in for at least a portion of the program.
We had our branding back on the first. It went rather smoothly if I do say so myself. We had plenty of help, plenty to eat and plenty of good company to fill the day. Brad was also able to convince his youngest brother, CJ, to come over and help out for the weekend. Somehow I think Brad better have enjoyed him while he had him because I doubt CJ will be back anytime soon. While here he was kicked, tripped, and rope burned all in the name of helping out. When he left here that Sunday morning I think he was thankful to be headed home and thankful for ibuprofen.

And last but not least we have Jake's kindergarten graduation, or as he called it "where I get my congratulations". We were running behind that evening, though in my defense I had to do two girl's hair and get clothes for two boys not to mention getting myself ready all within the time space of less then an hour...plus we had received about an inch of rain and our roads were not good...can you tell I am making excuses? Anyway, Jake was suppose to be at the school by 4:50, we showed up at 5:00. So we dropped Jake off at the door and told him to hustle in and then we went and parked the car. Later Brad was talking with a neighbor that has a daughter in the same class and he informed Brad that he has a very unique son. Our neighbor said that Jake ran in, stopped, looked around and then asked the room, which consisted of about 60 people, "Am I the first one here?" The neighbor then informed Jake that no he was not the first one there and that his class was out in the hallway. Before we had dropped him off we asked him if he knew where he was suppose to meet his class, even though he said yes I still told him where he needed to go. I guess somewhere between the car and the building he forgot where he was suppose to go.

I have a cute video of him performing the song "Tooty Ta" but I'll be danged if blogspot will let me upload it. I have tried for the past two days to get it up with no luck, sorry guys.

Jake's last day of school was today and the girl's last day is next Wednesday. I had my last day back on the 4th and am taking the summer off. I am down to my final 8 classes before I get to student teach and that divides up nicely into 2 full time semesters so I am taking a break. We have a few trips to Colorado planned and hopefully a house addition to occupy our summer so I should find plenty to do. I am happy to say that I received my grades yesterday and have achieved my second 4.0 in a row for an overall G.P.A of 3.9, NEVER thought I was the type to get straight A's...guess my past teachers knew more then I did after all :o)

I had to include this picture for Grams, for some reason this little chapel has always reminded all of us of her. From the first day we drove by it we all thought, "Boy Grams would love this". The picture is not the best but I have been wanting to take a picture of it for awhile so on our way back from soccer (that will be in the next posting)I stopped.
