Summer has begun.

This is what three children look like after spending the day outside playing with a goat and helping their dad. Jake is filthy! He whined and complained when he was told he had to shower before he could eat dinner. Our goat friend is named screamer, and it fits! She is a very cute goat we are taking care of for a friend while they attend a wedding in Montana. She is more like a dog then a goat. She cries so pathetically after the kids leave her. She sounds very similar to a young child when she cries.

We also had a rabbit rescue center for a few days. Jake and Haylie (a friend) saved two baby bunnies from the evil pepper dog. They still had their eyes closed so I was just sure we were going to be the death of them. The next day I was brought 1 more with his eyes closed and 2 with their eyes barely open. I called the vet and asked what they advised to feed them because I knew from past experience that calf's milk did not work. Their recommendation was kitten formula. We hand fed them for about 10 days and then the kids took them up and released them. All that work for something I am sure I am going to be cussing later this summer when they are eating my garden vegetables.
I took pictures of the kids with their bunnies and as you can see Jake was really impressed and did his best to take a very nice picture.

For the first few days after we got Screamer the kids were begging for their own goat. After about day 3 of having to feed her every 4 hours they are no longer asking for a baby goat :o)
