Be careful what you wish for.

Things were getting so dry here that we were starting to think we had moved back to Colorado. All it takes apparently is the scheduling of weaning and/or preg checking and the rain will arrive. Since Friday we have received over 2 inches of rain and our driveway looks like a mud bogging raceway.

Jake spent Saturday helping Brad and the brothers preg check. That morning my clean little boy left, that evening this mud ball returned. Dad told him he had to strip down to his underware and then go directly to the shower. My washer is going to be getting a heck of a workout in the next few days.

Kendra had a volleyball tournament on Saturday so Jayla and I ventured that way to cheer her on. They won 2 of their 4 games. It was the end of the season for them which is not a bad thing in this mom's opinion. Kendra was getting really ran down. Between school, volleyball, friends and a cold, not to mention junk food as the main dietary supplement for game days, she was out sick for two days last week.

Next week is homecoming week so that means the kids will have pictures of themselves all dressed up as little weirdos. Jayla and Jake decided that they would try out some of their costumes to see how they fit. Tomorrow is career day and Jake has decided that he will be either a banker or a football player when he grows up (or both as he informed me one day). He found some mustaches at the dollar store and one of them was named "banker" and so tomorrow he will be a banker. Jayla is going as a Paleontologist and Kendra is going as a Rancher.

Jake had brought out a razor to take his picture with and Jayla liked that idea so Jake ran back in the bathroom and brought her a "girl razor" because using a boy razor would have been just plain weird :)
