I have been busy trying to make our yard look more like people actually live here rather then just stay the weekends. My husband is not much of a yard worker but he does unload the heavy stuff. The boot shown here is actually about 40 pounds and Brad HATES it! I wanted to buy it about a month ago, but ended up letting Brad win that argument (or at least let him THINK he had won). During the next trip to Home Depot though, guess what I got? Though I did settle for just buying one because Brad was right in the fact that they only came in the left version and it is hard to have a pair of boots when they both will only fit the left foot. The other day we had most of our grass calves get out and they were in the yard...sniffing around my new boot! They knocked it down and I told Brad "if they broke it we are having steak tonight!!" fortunitly for them it did not break so they got to live another day. As far as the rest of the yard, we finally found someone in this country that has a rot-ta-tiller (sp). This soil is basically clay and that does not work very well with a rotatiller. But I am going to give it a try. I want a yard that is green all the way around...no patchy dirt anywhere.

Spring Play-"Saturday"
Just so you guys have an idea of the size of school this is...what you see is what you get. There are a few kids that do not show up in these photos but most of them are shown. Not exactly a "big" school huh? There is talk that we may be consolidating as soon as next year. I am in the minority here but I think it would be a great thing for these kids if they did combine with another local school. There would be more money and as we all know, money is what makes the world go round. We have a school 12 miles away that has already combined with 2 other small schools so that is where the kids would go. The only problem now is that there will be no buses. Hardly any of the schools up here have busing...I know that is hard to believe but it is widely
accepted here and not unusual.
Jayla and Kendra both had speaking parts. Kendra did not really need a microphone to be heard. They were thinking that maybe Jayla would, being as she is only 7 I guess. Boy were they wrong. Jayla stepped up there and belted out her lines very loudly and very clearly! I would say she was the one and only child that probably did not need the microphone :o)
Jake got his cast off on Wednesday. He did not really know what to think. His wrist hurt...makes sense considering it hasn't moved in 8 weeks, and so he walked around with his arm stretched out and hand dangiling. If he had been a girl you would have thought he was wanting everyone to kiss his hand in greeting. We finally got him convinced that he could actually hold his arm down and it wouldn't fall off or anything.
Well I guess I have posted all the pictures I am allowed to this time so that must be a sign to go and get my house cleaned..Tomorrow is Saturday after all :o)
