Kendra has been helping her dad out a lot. She loves it! She spent two whole days out with him and Chris and Chris' son Logan helping bottle feed and mothering all the new little calves. She still gets a little nervous around the moms but she is trying to be brave. That is more then I can say for Jayla. She has no desire to be brave... she has a desire to stay in the barn away from the momma at all times. I have told Brad on more then one occassion that Jayla must be mine because we think alike!
Brad finally got to ride Dozer the other day and was thrilled to have him back in the line-up so to speak. As much as Brad hates to actually admit it that horse is his baby and the fact that he was willing to stand still long enough for me to take a picture proves it.
One Monday Jayla and I will be heading to Omaha for an eye appointment. Her eyes have been giving her problems lately and we are going to see if anything can be done to help her out. Though Jayla's eyes have always been the worst when it came to watering she has never had a problem with infections until recently. One thing you need to know about Jayla is she HATES shots. Now I know what you are thinking...all kids hate shots, nothing unusual there, but Jayla REALLY hates shots. She has kicked Doctors, bent needles and screamed like the devil himself is trying to escort her to hell. She does not do well with them. These experiences have always been mine for the enjoyment until last week when Brad had to take Jayla in for a CT scan while I was in school. I have always told Brad about Jayla and her dislike for needles/shots but apparently he thought I was over re-acting...he no loner thinks so. He felt the need to try and explain to me that Jayla really didn't like needles. My response..."No kidding???" Brad learned first hand how freaked out an 8 year old can get when it came time to insert the IV for the dye they needed for the CT. I tried not to laugh, I really did, but it was hard and in the end I didn't make it...I laughed :o) The only problem now is that I don't know if I could get my husband to take our youngest daughter back to the Dr. again, maybe if it was an
