What a weekend! There is nothing like fitting a weeks worth of activities into a couple of days.
We were off to Kansas City, MO this past weekend to meet up with my sister and mom and to pick up our "new" car. The original plan for the weekend was that my mom and sister were going to travel up north to our house and spend a few days, well when we found this car deal plans got changed. Thank goodness mom and Heather were willing to roll with it and instead of traveling to Lynch, NE they traveled to Kansas City, it was the same 9 hour drive for them regardless so they didn't much mind. I must say there were a few more things to do in KC than there would have been to do here that is for sure! One of those things was Cabella's, which was more for Brad's benefit than anyone elses, though mom really enjoyed it too since this was her
first visit.
While there we also hit Dave and Busters for the kids...ok and for us adults too. We all had a good time though I learned that I should stop while I am ahead. Brad and I went toe to toe in a basketball shooting game and I won, twice, by a large margin. I should have stopped than but I didn't. Brad came back demanding a rematch to at which I was more than willing, after all I had smoked him twice surely I can smoke him again right? Wrong! He beat me both times, one of those times was a shalacking...I should
have went out a champion and denied him his rematch! Jake loved the motorcycle game while Jayla liked the horses racing and Kendra's favorite was the basketball shoot, no real suprises there huh?

We also celebrated birthdays being as that was the primary reason mom and Heather planned a visit in the first place. There is something to be said for guilt trips. A few weeks ago Jayla asked if we could go to Colorado this month and I told her no, there was no way but that we might try and go in March. She looked benefittingly sad and depressed and then told me how unfair it is that Kendra and Jake both get to celebrate their birthday's in CO sometimes while she has never gotten to. Well all it took was one conversation with my sister and the plans were in
the works...there was no way Aunt Heather was going to let another birthday go by without being there. It goes without saying that Auntie Heather is whipped when it comes to the Froman children!
Jayal finally got to have one of "Nanny's" birthday cakes, while she doesn't bake them she does order them :o)

I had to include this picture from Cabela's since I see so much truth behind it. While the two little girls look all nice and sweet they are more likely to act like the two bear behind them rather than the angles they appear to be.
Here's the new car, I know it is not a very good picture but I was not really up for running outside to dust the snow off. It is a 2005, which I know is the same year as our car, but it only has 40,000 miles on it and is 4WD. Brad feels like he has made it since it has heated leather seats. We are keeping the Taurus for the time being so that I put all my school miles on it rather than the new one. All in all it was a very productive fun weekend!
