Breaking Ground

What a week! I know I say that a lot but WOW this week a lot has been accomplished in what seems like a very short period of time. First off Brad and I ripped the green 70's living room carpet out on Tuesday. We did so because last week I discovered that we had hardwood floors underneath and they appeared to be in pretty good condition.

Even if they were in rough condition they had to be better then 70's green! I am very happy with the outcome. We cleared everything out and put three coats of sealer on it so hopefully it will withstand all of Jake's driving.

Yesterday (Thursday) a lovely man named Chad came to our house and put in central air for us. I have only had it for less then 24 hours but I have to say, I love it! The kids really like it being as their room faces west and gets very warm in the late afternoon sun. Now they too can find relief from the heat.

You would think that central air and hardwood floors would be enough progress for the week but no, we weren't done yet. Brad also broke ground on the house addition yesterday. I am sure in two months I am going to want to pull my hair out but for now I am very excited about the prospect of having more room.

We also have a film crew coming this weekend to take video and pictures of the place and the brothers and their families. The brothers have even mentioned that possibly Brad and I might visit with the crew on camera, we are thinking this is a family thing and we need no part of it :o) The crew will be here due to an award the brother's won for their conservation efforts. Brad, as well as all of us and a couple of neighbor boys have been busy moving, weed eating and cleaning in anticipation of this weekend.
