Busy Weekend

Hello to all. Well, we have had a busy few days. We finally made it into the local pool but guess who forgot her camera? I am going to have to start remembering that. The kids had a great time. They had a kiddy pool that was perfect for Jake as it was only 2ft deep. You could tell at first that he was a little scared. In the past he has always had to hold on to mom or dad and here he did not have too. So at first he just stayed on the wall walking around and around. If you would throw a toy in the middle and tell him to go get it he would calmly tell you he couldn't, when you would ask why he would say because "I will drown". No matter how much we tried to convince him that he would in fact not drown he refused to even try until it was almost time to go home. It finally took us throwing a rubber snake in the middle to make him venture out to retrive it. He then came all the way across and informed us that he did not drown! The girls had fun with the slide and a new girl named Jessie. The slide scared them a little at first since it was not like the swimming slides they were use to and they thought they were going to fall off the side. They soon got over their fear and had a great time.

Brad also had an exciting time this weekend as he went on his first boating/fishing adventure. Two of the brothers as well as some other family members fished the day away on the Missouri River. Brad said where they were at it was 60 ft down to the bottom. For a dry lander who never fully learned how to swim that was a bit much for him :>) He did not do too bad though, he caught quite a few bass. And since you could not keep them if they were under 14in We know he at least caught one that big. He thinks his biggest one was somewhere around 18in and weighed between 2 and 3 pounds. And yes he did bring a couple home for me to cook...Being as I have never cooked fish that was not square in form I am a little lost as to how to do that. But I will muddle through.

We also got a new addition to our family. I know what you are thinking...our house is small enough as it is and we keep bringing more things home to live in it. However after seeing this little guy and where he was we just had to bring him home. I can't say I have ever been to a puppy mill but I think that is where our new friend Pepper was living. They had a least 100 dogs there and he was in a little pen by himself. Not that they were abused, they had plenty of food and water, but the lady did not think he had been held since his birth just petted when they do chores. So he is not sure what to do with all of these people trying to hold him. I think he will come around though.

I am enclosing a picture I took last night of the "boy" (As daddy is fond of calling him) I just found this funny and cute. Little girls sleep with dollies or Teddy Bears but not the boy. Every night he has to pick a different piece of machinery to go to bed with and then I remove it before I go to bed. Looks cozy dosen't it?

Hi - Beautiful Cocker!!!! Spend the money and get a pair of Oster A5 clippers and a couple of #10 blades and start working on keeping him shaved. I'll send you the instructions. When we had a cocker - I kept him completely shaved down except his ears. They are much easier to keep clean as mud, stickers and everything sticks to their fur. Their feet are the hardest part to do, but it won't take you long to master it!!!
--Love you all lots!!!
